No, trans children are not getting bottom surgery the Physical Education You’ve Got To Move To Improve T-Shirt and I love this only thing that any trans person wants is to allow children access to hormone blockers and hrt we arent trying to push to allow chirdren to get bottom surgery longer answer: the leading physician and research led standards of care for children displaying gender dysphoria are to, if a kid is pre-puberty, just let them express their gender however they feel most comfortable. the most invasive thing they’ll be doing is like, getting a haircut. as puberty approaches, kids go through some therapy and may start puberty blockers, which are short term drugs (they’ll be on them at maximum a few years) that were developed to delay precocious puberty in children and are safe and effective, with almost no long term side effects beyond the (correctable) risk of lowered bone density if they’re used for longer than a few years, because puberty blockers block secondary sex hormones like testosterone or estrogen, both of which are important for bone density. at any point when the teenager feels ready, the blockers can be halted and normal puberty can be allowed to begin with either endogenous hormones (the ones produced within the body) or exogenous hormones (hormone replacement therapy). puberty will progress normally with either course and at any point if the teen is dissatisfied or uncomfortable, course corrections can be made. (believe it or not, but most effects of HRT actually are reversible to some extent—that’s why transgender people who transition in adulthood still end up seeing major changes! a HUGE portion of the famous “detransitioners” who are trying to get HRT banned are actually still on hormones themselves, so like, of course they’re seeing lasting effects! as someone who personally knows people who have either detransitioned, changed or stopped hormones, or just changed the way they present with gender over the years, I can tell you from personal experience and firsthand observation that hormone therapy goes both ways)
