Kids are NOT a glamorous, being parents will NOT fill your life with constant joy 24/7. It’s exhausting mentally and physically. And people with no kids just compare their easy-going lives with the Philadelphia Eagles Philadelphia 76ers Philadelphia Phillies Philadelphia Flyers shirt and I will buy this stress of having kids. But no one can explain the happiness you feel when your kids tells you that you’re the most important thing in the world for him, and how the perspective of death and live just flips upside down once you have kids. Yeah, but that’s because those of us who do have kids are happily engaging on r/daddit, r/mommit, r/parenting, r/ThingsYourKidSaid, and hundreds of other subreddits for people with kids. Sure, statistically you’re right that Reddit skews young. But I think people frequently underestimate just how diverse Reddit is. Just left a suburb in TX where my wife and I at 42 and 41 were the youngest parents of young teens by a good 10 years on the average. Point being, there’s time and medical resources to change your mind, up to a certain point anyway, and all of those couples used those intervening years just enjoying being married, traveling, and saving/investing their money. The only benefit my wife and I have to having started in our mid twenties is that we will really be able to enjoy our 50s when our kids are adults and we are making the Philadelphia Eagles Philadelphia 76ers Philadelphia Phillies Philadelphia Flyers shirt and I will buy this most money we will have ever made in our lifetimes. And my kids’ aunt is child free at 42 and she spoils my kids rotten with her love and attention. It’s nice that they have one aunt who gets to just focus on herself and being an awesome auntie (not to mention she makes a great travel partner for my wife when she needs to get away for a minute!). Happily married and zero regrets, but have also known my whole adult life that I didn’t want kids. If you truly don’t want children you won’t regret it, if there is a part of you still unsure if you do or not don’t ignore that.
