its not selfish to do what you want with your life, but it is selfish to have kids when you didnt want to or think its the Philadelphia eagles kelly green stadium wave shirt in contrast I will get this answer to happiness. you can find fullfilment in anything youre passionate about. and if youre not passionate about being a parent, it doesnt make you wrong or selfish. it makes you responsible and sure of yourself. You should only have kids only if you really want them, people having kids when they never really wanted kids are how you get fucked up kids. Honestly, my opinion on having children is if you’re on the fence, then don’t do it. Simple as. I personally think we need to be solidly committed to the idea of being parents. We can’t be on the fence or sort of unsure, because this isn’t like getting a new hair cut you’ve not tried before. This isn’t trying out a new flavour of yogurt. The risks are high asf and you cannot go back, you cannot undo it and return to your old life. Because of centuries of primary and secondary socialisation that truly pushes the agenda to procreate and the social media aspect that gaslights us into thinking a family life makes us feel complete, so many young people are manipulated into believing they are not complete or fulfilled in their lives unless they become parents. That’s so damaging, emotional and life long fulfilment comes from within and from anything you choose to do that brings you happiness, this does not have to involve parenthood if you do not want it.

Family vloggers etc will lie to you, and tell you it’s a sacrifice that’s worth it you’ll change your mind once it’s yours etc. There’s a notion that you’re selfish or immature for not wanting kids. All of it is backwards bc it lies to you, as I said you make this decision once you cannot take it back. And you’ll also find the Philadelphia eagles kelly green stadium wave shirt in contrast I will get this whole, “it takes a village to raise a child” is gone in this century. Social media and online use has made us all more disconnected than ever before. So if you expect your besties or your relatives to follow through with their promises and support you, you’ll be very shocked to find you’ll likely be in this alone a lot of the times too. I get so passionate about this because I’ve time and time again witnessed and seen, and done wellbeing sessions with, and experienced first hand what the outcome is for children whose parents were “on the fence” or unsure about parenthood but did it anyway for the shits and giggles. And because they weren’t fully committed, many kids have holes in their hearts from the multitude of ways it fucks them up.
