Awful things? I still write and draw with them now! Very few other pens that don’t cost the Phila Spectrum Logo Shirt in contrast I will get this Earth can write or draw with such consistent width and tone strokes. Yes! I hated it. My writing in pencil was really good but when they forced me to use pen (and to use joined up) it degraded rapidly. At my primary school these were banned, you had to write in fountain pen or pencil. You only got given fountain pens if you could write joined-up at the end of Year 3. Me and a few other kids just could not get the hang of joined up handwriting, and had to have special lessons to learn. Eventually the teacher got so frustrated with my inability to do it properly she accepted my dreadful chicken-scratches as joined-up handwriting, and I was forced to write like that for the rest of primary school. Absolutely destroyed my handwriting ability, print or joined-up, to this day. Still bitter about it. You guys got to use pens? We had to write with pencils and had to prove that we could write in pen. No clue what the point in that rule is I’m not sure what a kid’s gonna do with a pen.

They were great pens for about 2 pages. Then they just blurred and blotched everything haha. Thanks though, a memory I had Almost forgotten I was doing my homework with biro the Phila Spectrum Logo Shirt in contrast I will get this whole way through primary school. I had to use pencil in class until Year 6 when I was finally allowed to use one of those pens. These were the special pens for ‘handwriting practise’ in my school. Hateful things. Particularly being a lefty! I’d forgotten all about them and now realise the trauma is still there from these beasts! An elegant weapon for a more civilized age! Fountain pens were what we had to use. The cheaper ones used to leak where you held it and had permanent blue ink between my fingers! Was only allowed it once I could write properly on pencil. It was such a reward being able to use one evm though they were always some level of running out and chewed to fuck…. unless you managed to find the unicorn unchewed, fully working one Graduating to one of these was the highlight of primary school! I was one of the first in my class allowed to start writing with one and felt so smug lol. I’m not so fond of them now, my pen preferences have changed, but both this pen and the fountain pen equivalent were my favourites until my parents gifted me a proper Parker fountain pen for Year Six. Timings so bizarre. At work yesterday, someone was writing with one of these pens. She asked me if I also got one of these at school, saying at her school you had to write with a pencil and eventually, at a certain level, you’d earn one of these pens and get a certificate. I’d never seen the pen before and didn’t have a clue what she was talking about. Now I’m weirded out seeing this post today. I do remember those, but I must have gone to a posh school because we were made to use a fountain pen by the age of 8.
