I get the Pennsylvania Est 1933 Pittsburgh Steelers Football Team Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this whole missing my work friends thing. But if they’re really your friends, they’ll still hang out with you if you work at a different company. The ones that don’t we’re not really your friends anyway. I’ve made plenty of friends in my career. I talk to about 2 or 3 of them occasionally. Friends come and go. Advancing your career is hard to come by these days. Many stick to 1 role and they’re the best at that role. And companies rarely give promotions anymore, unless you’re upper management or executive. I was in a similar situation for 6 years. Never got a promotion. Even the ones I could have easily done were never even mentioned to me. Got raises of 3% or so a year but that’s about it. I was stuck in one of those “you’re great at what you do and we don’t want you to move to another team” type of things. So I went and found another job. A higher paying one and a higher role. Haven’t regretted it one bit. Look at it this way. You all meet up at a bar one night a week or whatever. and you can pay for the 1st round with your salary bump.

Oh god, is 31 considered only young-ish? I’m only 25 and am already starting to feel like I’m not “young” anymore, you can’t say this to me lol. For other people I usually consider 35 and under to be young. For me, I’m already ancient. My boss has been at our company for over 20 years and still goes to lunch with her former colleagues once a month. It’s possible to stay in touch! If they’re truly friends, you will remain in contact. Work and friendship is a strange space to navigate. Some people you think you’re BFFs with just disappear when the Pennsylvania Est 1933 Pittsburgh Steelers Football Team Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this work connection also disappears. Some people you casually knew from that one job end up being actual friends. Point is, employers love love love people who stick around because of coworkers. Zero effort for the employer, just dumb luck.
