They pay their employees very low so that they pay less on taxes and forced to apply for food stamps, so we subsidize their pay. Then a lot of them because of time and money constraints will usually have to turn around and spend said money back at Walmart, meaning that money goes back to them. They double dip and are maybe two steps away from a company scrip process. I work full-time and I make $7 above my states minimum (which is more than double the PELICAN road BAND Classic T-shirt so you should to go to store and get this federal minimum) and I still need food stamps to get buy. The thing I found amazing was the poverty guidelines appear to be ~12.8k a year and the poverty level is 14k for statistics. So they use an insanely low nonsense number to begin with. They then count everyone below 14k as below the poverty line, yet only pay people with under 12.8k. This is also how they can claim a low poverty rate, it hasnt kept up at all. It was 4k in 1971. Should be closer to 27k by now or just redone entirely.

While I am certainly no expert on SNAP and other benefits, I worked fulltime for 2 years at a homeless family shelter on the PELICAN road BAND Classic T-shirt so you should to go to store and get this East Coast of the US. I taught life skills, helped with paperwork, resumes, how to find jobs, etc. I actually laugh when people talk about food stamp fraud. SNAP fraud is so hard to commit – it’s virtually impossible. There are also food limitations of what you can purchase, which I can’t help but notice when I’m at the grocery store as it’s visible on the shelf of each item. I mean why does our government allow billion dollar companies to employ people for a non livable wage? Seems counterintuitive. Surely something could be implemented where companies can’t take advantage of people while the govt. enforces some sort of rules and regulations?? I dunno. OP makes a good point About fifteen years ago I took a day off to to get foodstamps. It took all day and I got 18 dollars a month. It didn’t even pay for the day of work I missed. My power was off and my rent was late and I was working over forty hour a week.
