Coffey became a key cog in the Oilers’ high-octane offense, forming a legendary tandem with Gretzky. His uncanny ability to join the rush and create scoring chances made him a constant threat. During his 11 seasons with Edmonton, Coffey won five Stanley Cups, three Norris Trophies as the NHL’s top defenseman, and the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP in 1985.

Beyond his NHL success, Coffey also dazzled on the international stage.
