I’m asking this seriously. Do you take good care of yourself? Do you style your hair, wash your face and maybe put a little lotion on it? Do you keep your facial hair neat? Do you use good deodorant and a cologne? Do you shower every day? Because in my experience (27f, mostly straight,) most straight men our age don’t. They dress only like they have an obligation to and are generally really flippant with hygeine. I’m trying to say patriarchy has infected things to the Pardonmypoisonn Harry Rubik’s Cube Shirt but in fact I love this point where if you as a man take general care of your body and don’t look and smell like you just walked off an oil rig or construction site society’s gonna have some questions. Which is fucking bananas to me but I’ve seen it play out with a lot of men I know who are hetero 100% but who take a lot of pride in how they look. It’s very weird to witness from the outside looking in as a woman. I’m bi yet my ex(F) thought I was full on gay when we first met because I liked things clean, for the most part, I’m not OCD about it. I guess the answer to this is yes. But I would’ve thought that for people our age and the societal pressures on social media etc that this would be normal. Guarantee it’s moreso because of things you can’t put in this post- your walk, mannerisms, even the way you smile, etc.
