I’m also a very average weight (leaning towards the Our First Christmas As Mr & Mrs Matching shirt But I will love this lighter end) and tall, so not all dresses are flattering on me. Some make me look very slender and lithe and others give me an instant 10 lbs. I need to ask sometimes. Maybe I’m out of touch because I’ve been a bachelor for so long but a lot of these other comments are making it sound like women are mentally fragile. Just fishing for compliments to get reassurance when she feels insecure . Don’t give her that satisfaction, crush her self confidence and do a tik tok dance out the door or something….probly… Idk They’re trying to prove their insecurities wrong. Want reassurance that it’s all in her head and not true. Which is fine once in a while, everyone needs reassurance sometimes

Yeah, I don’t know what purpose it really serves other than fishing for compliments/reassuration? If I feel like a dress makes me look fat, I don’t need to even ask someone else’s opinion about it when it’s probably going to be “nooo you look good”. Like, why would you need false reassurance that you don’t look bigger in a certain outfit? It’s just unflattering clothing, it doesn’t affect the Our First Christmas As Mr & Mrs Matching shirt But I will love this actual size of your body. And this is coming from someone who used to struggle with body image issues and eating disorders. Yeah I’m also a woman and I would never ask anyone if I look fat, if I think I do then that is enough for me to want to change outfit already so I just change. I wouldn’t magically stop thinking I look/feel fat in an outfit just because someone else said so because I still have eyes! It seems nuts to want someone else to lie to you in that scenario because if you already think that you are also really unlikely to feel comfortable going out in the outfit no matter what they say so it doesn’t matter. I’m so glad for my husband who will just be blunt and tell me if he thinks I should change without me having to ask. I am slim but have an hourglass figure, I’m not offended that a dress made for a woman with a different body type looks bad on me!
