I think it was right after I bought my condo my dad started sending me random postings in the Original total Solar Eclipse 2024 North America Tour State Totality T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this middle of nowhere that were all for around $300k. Cheap places way under my budget. But I have literally no need to buy a 5 bedroom, 3 story, 7k square foot home in Wisconsin when I live in California. Before we bought our house, my wife used to do the same thing. It was her hobby to house hunt on Zillow. Some of them were just pure fantasy, like other states, or twice our budget for buying a home. But she’d jump in with both feet, researching the neighborhood, schools, valuation history, etc. For her it was just fantasy daydreaming that she liked to indulge in. A pleasant “what if?”. Maybe your wife is doing the same? I don’t blame OP’s wife. In a lot of markets, the $500-600k houses do suck or are in the worst locations. Maybe they could borrow from family to cover the stretch.

My parents kept on looking at houses around me the Original total Solar Eclipse 2024 North America Tour State Totality T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this moment we got our first child. It went on for basically 2 years with them asking CONSTANTLY “have you thought about moving to a house?” and we answering “Yes, we’d love to, but we can’t afford it” each time. After 2 years I guess my father got tired of waiting so he checked the markets and realized that if we basically bought an average home in our area it would run us about $1600 a month just to pay the loan, then we’d have other expenses like food, electricity and heating. Add to that the cost of two children and a car. It would run my father dry and he earns more than me and my wife combined. He was like “It’s super expensive! Nobody can afford that”… We just looked at him and went “Yeah, we know, we kinda told you…”
