Thank you so much for your reply – I’m actually waiting for the Original Louisville cardinals the denny crum legacy shirt and I will buy this GP to ring me back today to discuss being signed off further so I’ll see what they recommend, though when I initially called last week was that they asked me what I wanted, and I’m really bad at asking for or knowing what I need. For example, I’d love to take 2-3 more weeks off but I have a hard time knowing if that’s because I really need that time or because you know, who wouldn’t want a few weeks off right? I’m also worried that, despite the support from my boss, that it’ll be seen as taking the piss. I know a lot of that is my anxiety talking and the guilt over other people having to take over my work tasks for a longer time but then it also seems self-defeating if I’m trying to ‘rush’ back when I’m not ready. It’s just hard to know what ‘ready’ feels like.

When you’re saying about being over self-critical, worried about judgement and taking everything on myself – I could have written this as is probably clear from the Original Louisville cardinals the denny crum legacy shirt and I will buy this above. I will definitely check out the CFT info, it’s not something I’d heard of before so thanks for highlighting it. Heading back before you’re ready and then relapsing is probably worse in the long run. I’m at about the four month mark now, and I was in the same headspace as you at the start. Something one of the professionals I’m was talking to said was that only getting a two week fit note each time wasn’t allowing myself time to properly start to ease off the anxiety, and she encouraged me to take a month long one. That made a WORLD of difference. As to who wouldn’t want a few weeks off? Honestly, most of us. We’re not off on our holidays, we’re off sick. If you’re like me, and you actually like your job/colleagues, it’s even less likely that you want to be off. Same thing as if you’d broken your leg though, you wouldn’t go back before it was healed enough and risk rebreaking it, so don’t do that now either.
