It was like achieving true enlightenment, but only for one really specific thing. Ugghhh guys who are attracted to independent, intelligent women then get pissy because they think gf is smarter than they are /not reliant enough on them. Tell me about it. My first husband was so into me for my brain. Then I started to be more successful than he was (because I tried and he wouldn’t try for anything better than retail), and he was upset because he thought he was supposed to be taking care of me. They believe that you dressed sexy to get him. Now that you’ve got him there’s no more need to be sexy and if you keep dressing sexy it means you’re looking to upgrade. It’s just low self-esteem on their part.

it’s about control. They want to control the Original i’m not old i’m a classic 1916 Vintage stars T-Shirt Also,I will get this women, they picked women who would be more difficult to control because when they do control them it’s a bigger high holy shit you just answered my long time question about why the abusive ex chose me because I am a very outspoken individual who doesn’t tolerate being treated badly. trevor noah said this quote in his book (that i believe was from his mother) that said, “He only wants a woman who is free because his dream is to put her in a cage.” and i think this describes these kind of guys so well. The “need” for control can come from several different places as well. Some of them are just outright looking to do it to a girl. These are the worst ones imo. They are repeat offenders that are the guys who deserve to be called abusers. There are also guys who were legitimately just attracted to the women and then got insecure once they were with them and assumed the women would be “taken away”. In this type you see three trains of thought. The first one thinks they are not good enough for some reason and have a very poor (right or wrongly) image of themselves and think the woman is thinking about how to get out of the relationship or that they will realize it soon enough and hurt him. These guys are SCARED. They handle it poorly but are too scared or ill-equipped socially/emotionally to handle that fear in a constructive or appropriate way and abuse or control are the fallbacks. The second type isn’t processing that the woman is completely on the same level of thinking as the man and is more an object that is subject to the whims of men. These are dangerous as well. They think that some other guy can just convince the woman that they should leave for him so wanting her to not appeal to other men is his attempted defense. The last is the saddest. The last type of guy that does this assumes that the woman is out to hurt him and because of this can act in several different ways towards the woman. Control and isolation are very common. Putting her down to try and bring her down to his level is another. Simply agonizing about it and torturing himself mentally is the last one and likely just speaks up asking her to not wear revealing clothing as a single attempt at doing something about his mental anguish because he saw it as something she could do to immediately remedy the anxiety he has been getting crushed by. It is clearly not the best answer to this anxiety as open conversation, therapy, self confidence, and believing in your partner are the only answers to worrying about whether your partner would, could, or maybe even already has hurt you and betrayed you.
