As an outsider, I already can’t wrap my head around the fact that anyone would name a military base after a general from the losing side (I had no idea until today that this was a thing in the US). I really can’t wrap my head around the idea that anyone would name a military base after a general who lost so hard that he is credited with being a driving force of his side’s ultimate loss. I’m sorry, I know there’s a ton of serious baggage here, but this is the funniest thing I’ve read all week. I actually real-life laughed out loud when I read the article.
