Long covid scares the Old School Rap Tee Dreamville J Cole Shirt and I will buy this crap out of me, know a few folks who were healthy until they cause covid. And then it just never stopped. One developed a weird acute vitamin deficiency. Some folks are way too smug about what they perceive as it being overblown. Just because it’s not the 1918 flu doesn’t mean it’s fine. 0.4% sounds small, 4 in 1000 gets through a little better. It’s not great odds — driving is considered to be moderate but still acceptable risk, 2021 had about 13 deaths per 100k population in the US to get back to per thousand, that’s .13 per 1000? That’s 30x the death risk from driving? That sounds kinda fucking risky to me .4% of about 330 million people is a death toll of 1.32 million Americans. That is a massive tragedy that could have been much smaller.

Early 2020 my sister was asking me if I heard of this virus and if I was worried, I wasn’t until I did some napkin math. At first I told her I wasn’t worried because even if it was 99% survival rate that would mean…. Oh shit, 3.3 million deaths. And then I was thoroughly scared. This is slightly misleading, because the Old School Rap Tee Dreamville J Cole Shirt and I will buy this fatality rate is extremely depending on age and gender. If you are under 45 years old, the risk of dying from COVID is far lower than the average. People over the age of 70 make the overwhelming majority of death cases which pushes the average up. Males are also disproportionately more affected than women. The main reason we did social distancing and wearing masks was to protect these vulnerable people and to prevent our medical systems from collapsing due to too many cases.
