I sometimes have lazy days, and make very low effort content ( it’s because I have three kids an engineering job and a wife). Surprisingly I can get like 3 thousand views sometimes ,once I got 34 thousand views. And sometimes I make very high effort content and get like 100 views? I’m tempted to just be doing low effort content forever, but I think this will hurt me in the Ohio State Buckeyes 2023 Helmet Cotton Bowl Bound shirt in other words I will buy this long run. I kind of feel like The Rock or Adam Sandler who makes a whole bunch of crappy movies but still gets millions of dollars. It just doesn’t make sense to me, how can a low effort video get views and a high effort video not get views. Feels like the laws of the universe are broken. My low effort videos get 0 views just the same as the ones I put effort into, reached the point i realized what the hell im better of laying on the couch and not doing either. Then I stopped uploading and I feel better

You make one low effort video and nobody watches it, you shrug and make a new one. You make a high effort video and nobody watches it, that hurts. If you make 20 low effort videos in the Ohio State Buckeyes 2023 Helmet Cotton Bowl Bound shirt in other words I will buy this same span it takes to make 1 high effort one, that’s 20 chances to “get lucky” on the algorithm. That’s views You’re so right! I can make like 6 low effort videos per day, so it’s simply the law of averages. Because sometimes I accidentally stumple in a trend wow! So insightful. That said, it’s not what many people do. Video making is all about your own goals and targets. Many people pursue big video projects because of their own interests. Higher effort content is based on your own personal standards. Low effort content is, in many ways, incapable of expressing the level of artistic creativity that a creator desires We all feel this. I’m glad I’m not trying to make YouTube a career … It’s just like supplemental to my portfolio and also for fun stuff. Effort doesn’t represent quality, so you should actually replace effort with quality. If you make a very high quality, those chances of “getting lucky” are way higher in general than those low quality ones. For low quality ones you may need 20 of them, and maybe for high quality you need 3 or so. I’m not experiencing this pattern. On videos I made with low effort (like a short 1.5 minute long form video) compared to a high effort (months of work, 6 minute video) the high effort ones always receive about 15K-25K views. The low effort one flatlines at 1.5K views usually.
