I’ve been “off” of opinion news for over a year. I watch my local news at 5 & about 15 minutes of ABC World News Tonight. I’ve never watched FOX The issue started with one simple fact. 90% of News stories are boring. When Ted Turner started CNN (Cable News Network) back in the Oh Honey I Am That Aunt Leopard Heart T-Shirt Also,I will get this 80s, it nearly went under. They had to rely mostly on the Associated Press (AP) for their news wire and repeat stories during the day. Back then the AP also had a rotating pool of white house reporters and if you weren’t invited, you had to just use the AP footage and questions. Then the Baby Jessica Incident (small girl falls in well) happened. Since they were the only channel doing 24 hour news, at that time, they were able to see the story from start to finish and viewership skyrocketed at that time.

Latter on viewership began to wain as the Oh Honey I Am That Aunt Leopard Heart T-Shirt Also,I will get this news just isn’t that “sexy.” Then Fox “News” came along and started sensationalizing the news with an obvious bias and they began to steel CNNs viewership numbers and add some of their own. They stayed fairly benign for a while then MSNBC (started as a tech news channel with a partnership between Microsoft and NBC) started sensationalizing news to the same extent as Fox News, just to the other end of the spectrum. This left CNN bleeding viewership so they had to adapt or die unfortunately. I tend to watch local news only. I vote Democrats, however, whenever I have access to cable at work or hotel, I hate CNN only because of the amount of ads. It’s a cable channel which means people are paying just to have the channel and then you get ads shove down through your throat. I like to stick to my local news and NBC News at 6:30 with Lester Holt which I get for free through antenna and the amount of ads is reasonable.
