I don’t think so. There are a couple of people in this very thread who are saying they thought a quarter after meant 25 after, as well. Ya because if he said be back by a quarter till 11 they would have showed up at 10:75am. This is why I feel like I should have a better job than I do. I need to shop around a bit this year because this is the Official south Carolina Sandstorm Rally Towels logo shirt besides I will buy this competition coming in to the workforce. I work in payroll and have managers constantly submitting their employees’ time, for example, as .25 hours = 25 minutes It’s a different story when you’re actually around people. There is a strong likelyhood they didn’t know, I get it, a lot of people want to skip, but also seeing the Official south Carolina Sandstorm Rally Towels logo shirt besides I will buy this current education system and having gone through it, I get now knowing You’d be surprised, have worked with people in their 20s, I said to be back a quarter to noon and one of them asked me what did that exactly mean, then gave me their interpretation which by their logic was obviously off. I’m not a boomer by any means I’m only 35. I politely said 11:45 didn’t make a big deal about it or embarrass them but in my head I was just thinking WTF mate. In German there’s actually much confusion here. We normally use terms like “quarter before 12” (=11:45) “quarter past 12” (=12:15) When you really don’t want to meet someone, so you can let them stay and wait for you for and then excuse yourself with “Wellll, I actually TOLD you it’s half 10, not half 9!” 😀
