With 200k in loan debt, OP doesn’t have the Official i don’t need anger management just need people pissing me off yoda shirt But I will love this luxury of loving what he does. He needs a well paid job. He’ll probably have a much better work life balance without 200k looming over his head. Hey!!! Don’t you tell young people that reality! Boomers need that quote to keep tricking 17 year olds into six-figure loans so that way fuel-money for their yachts never dries up. You don’t want boomers to have to retire only sometimes using their yachts, do you??? I’m genuinely curious – not at all shaming you – but what healthcare position did you pursue that landed you with $200k in student loans? That sounds like a doctor or something. If it is something like this I’d seriously suggest going back for at least a little bit to bring your debt down. Others have mentioned USA Jobs, but joining any non profit will help cancel the loans after 10 years of payment, if I remember correctly. I’d highly recommend not going into more debt. Unfortunately, a hard reality (and I’m in a similar position so this is why I’m not judging), is that you may have to take a job you don’t like for a while. You may have to try to find some good in it or work for a company and go into a different position within the Official i don’t need anger management just need people pissing me off yoda shirt But I will love this company after a while. 50k a year maybe for a private university yes but that is actually extremely high….not sure where Reddit gets this idea where every university’s tuition is 50k a year That’s a pretty expensive one, though. State universities in your home state tend to be about half that for a 4-year degree, and that’s assuming you’re paying nothing into it as you go. $200k is law or medical school cost, and I agree with others: if you’re that in debt and that behind on life in your late 30 you take the job that can pay the bills and get you back on track. Liking your job comes secondary to not being broke until you die.
