My parents put me in swimming classes when I was like 6. Growing up, water was never an issue for me because of it. It was easy to build the Official dune Thank You For The Memories Movies From 2021 To 2024 Shirt besides I will buy this mindset of “dude it’s just water wtf just tread, doggy paddle if you have to”. It took until I saw someone almost drown at a waterpark to where I was like “oh shit…some people didn’t grow up being used to water….I gotta be ready to help people just in case”. The worst part is that I’ve lived in Michigan my entire life. We’re surrounded by water and lakes are always where people gather to swim. Hell, we all took and passed boating safety classes in middle school as a requirement of PE. I grew up poor though so there were no swimming lessons or any other stuff like that. I had tried teaching myself prior to that particular event but afterward I just panic if the water is at my neck or if I get splashed in the face unexpectedly. Even my husband (really strong swimmer, took tons of lessons) couldn’t teach me because I just panic. All three of my kids were put in swimming lessons around age 5-6. They all know how to get themselves out of the water and how to preserve their energy by floating. I 100% did not want them to be like me.

You don’t have to take this advice, but my fiancé struggled with the Official dune Thank You For The Memories Movies From 2021 To 2024 Shirt besides I will buy this same thing as you for a long time. I used to get a bit frustrated when I wanted to go swimming & snorkeling when we were on vacation but she’d refuse to join me for that exact reason. The water hitting her face and anything above the shoulder line was panic inducing. So I got her some snorkeling gear and took her to the rec center shallow pool. Easy 3 feet of water. Kept a relaxed / humorous coaching personality and had her put on the mask and breathing tube. Told her to put her head just a little under the water and to look at my feet. As soon as the water hit her face, she panicked and flipped her head back up. But she wanted to get to used to it. So I said okay, how about put your goggles juuuuust a tad under the surface so that you can see my feet.
