This is the Official Detroit Lions Mickey Donald Duck And Goofy Football Team 2024 shirt it is in the first place but earliest lie I can remember telling. I was 5 and in Primary 1 at school. Mrs Ballantyne said she needed someone to go to the school office for something (can’t remember what). I shot my hand up and she told me, “go on then”. The second I got into the corridor I realised I had no idea where the office was. I hung around for about 2 minutes then went back into the classroom and told her I’d forgotten where it was. To this day I have no idea why I said I knew where it was. Showing off, I suppose. Edit: just realised this is about other people telling you lies. Maybe Mrs Ballantyne will be along in a minute to tell the story about a lying schoolboy she encountered many years ago. She’s probably long dead, mind.

I had looked at her Instagram profile at some point and could see from her tagged photos that she had recently been to a restaurant in the Shard. We see the skyscraper while on our walk and she asks me if I’ve been there. I say, no. I ask her the same expecting her to say yes, but she also replies no. I’m bewildered. What I found funny was that she lied about something that she herself brought up! Anyways, that turned out to be the first sign of many that she was not a person I could trust. A former colleague of mine once misheard her new hairdresser asking whether she had kids, and said yes. The hairdresser started chatting away about mum life and asking more questions about my colleague’s baby…
