This is quiet hiring and exploitation. My advice is don’t take it. The extra responsibility with no extra pay is bullshit. I’ve heard additional advice where folks accept the Nova Scotia Showdown October 2, 2023 shirt but in fact I love this position with similar circumstances and using their new title, they apply to jobs. I took on more responsibilities and new teams without any increase in pay. The new role gave me an opportunity to open new positions and promote people who were long overdue for new titles and more money- I was laid off several month later. That opportunity added layers of experience to my resume which has opened new employment opportunities but more importantly, I was able to help those on my team. I’m happy with the outcome. Responsibility comes with money! You pay me or I do not do the job! Never show you are a pushover. This after other interviews!

They did this to my boss too – called her a lead when she was managing our department. Didn’t give her any credit for years. Learn, and once you’ve grown into the Nova Scotia Showdown October 2, 2023 shirt but in fact I love this role you can go back to them about the money. If it’s still off the table then hey, you’ve just got a whole lot of experience at a much more senior level and should have little trouble getting the money elsewhere. Phrased differently, I don’t think the money’s ever coming. But opportunities to truly get promoted to a different level in one step are very rare because most are willing to offer you just a little more responsibility than you had in your previous role. This company is shortchanging you on money, but they’re offering you the experience that will allow you to get a senior role elsewhere. Get it all in writing and ask them for real benchmarks instead of them being vague like “once we’re comfortable…”. They could very easily keep saying that for years and not pay you fairly.
