New Granted Power: State Governors can call for a vote and impeach Federal Supreme Court Justices. This requires 3/4 majority vote of state governors. This method can only impeach (1) Supreme Court Justice every 5 years. Most of these are bad and either over or under complicating things. The right solution is that each justice is appointed to an 18 year term with no age limit. That means one new justice is appointed every 2 years. If a justice dies in office then a replacement is appointed to fill the Nothing will ever be the same again Harry Potter shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this remainder of their term instead of getting a new 18 year term so we keep the cycle of a new full term starting every 2 years. Once a justice has served, they can’t be re-appointed. There should be no impeachment option by state governments. The way our states are divided is a great example of gerrymandering. Republicans have greatly outsized power at the state level as seen through their over representation in the senate. It wouldn’t be too difficult for the Republicans to get enough governor spots to start impeaching justices through your suggestion.

I don’t necessarily agree with the Nothing will ever be the same again Harry Potter shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this reasoning here. The article basically reads; Roe V Wade is being overturned so we need to change the system to stop it from happening. People have talked about packing the courts, but I think term limits are better. People are older now than they were 200 years ago so the justices are lasting longer than the founder intended, and polls say people like term limits. The major thing that worries me is that if the dems can make major changes to the infrastructure of the supreme court, so can the republicans. So far it has been somewhat of a ‘we might but never have’ in regards to both term limits and packing the court, but I worry that when floodgates open they don’t stop.
