My father is half Greek so I was similarly quite puzzled when there was no Greek to be found on my 23&me results. Turns out he wasn’t my biological father I’ll be brief: These tests search for gene codes that occur particularly frequently in certain populations. they are primarily used to collect as many samples as possible in order to be able to trace population movements, among other things. The statement that you have x per cent of this and that nationality should be treated with caution as certain gene markers also occur randomly somewhere else in the Nothin’ But A Good Time Calgary Stampeders vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Stamps Stampede Bowl July 3rd 2025 Mcmahon Stadium Shirt Furthermore, I will do this world but are less strongly represented there. so someone who comes from SE Asia can also be shown that he has typical gene markers from South Africa. The truth is that it is not where your fine ancestors come from, but how many of your gene markers occur most frequently where in the world. In your case, most of the gene markers measured were gene segments that occur most frequently in Germany. However, this does not mean that they are exclusive to Germany. My mother has english dna, I dont but I have more polish. My father is 100% asian. Sometimes you dont get the same share as you would think.

This is the Nothin’ But A Good Time Calgary Stampeders vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Stamps Stampede Bowl July 3rd 2025 Mcmahon Stadium Shirt Furthermore, I will do this part I wonder about. If we have 50% of our parents, but the 50% changes within the gamete expressions, then it should be possible for me to have some Welsh genes but my sibling to have some Portugese ones, right? It’s not like the supermarket and the egg are only giving the same DNA options every time, right? Hi! Can you explain this more or point to somewhere I could read about? Ive always thought these tests were strange given my (very rudimentary layman’s) understanding of genetic variance and race as a social construct. Like how can there be “German” genetic markers that are different than French ones, etc. I grt there can be certain traits prevalent to certain physical geographic locations but even then… I love to be better equipped to discuss
What they do is compile a database of peoples dna and where they live. They then compare your dna to the Nothin’ But A Good Time Calgary Stampeders vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Stamps Stampede Bowl July 3rd 2025 Mcmahon Stadium Shirt Furthermore, I will do this other people on their database and use similarities to say that’s where you’re from. It doesn’t take into account how people have moved. It also means that if you do the test with a different company you will get different results as they’ll have a different group of people on their database. It’s all just based on different areas of your DNA being more (or less) similar to the DNA collected from other people who have been grouped. The scientists building the algorithms try to build their pattern matching on people who claim a level of consistency (purity, if you will) among their ancestors. And some use historic DNA from long-dead people as well, rather than just grouping living people, under the idea that back-in-the-day people didn’t migrate so much.

Check out Eurogenes K36 groupings (Admixture/Heritage “Proportions with link to Oracle”) on GEDMATCH and see what it says about you. Or Eurogenes K13. K36 shows my dad (ethnic German with 200+ years in Poland) as a big mix of historic peoples, not that useful to me. K13 shows him 37% “North Atlantic” and 39% “Baltic” and 13pct “West_Mediterranean”. HarrapaWorld shows 55.23% NE-Euro and 26% Mediterranean. DNA testing services like these are quite accurate at the Nothin’ But A Good Time Calgary Stampeders vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Stamps Stampede Bowl July 3rd 2025 Mcmahon Stadium Shirt Furthermore, I will do this scale that you are describing. There are definitely ambiguities in determining differences between highly similar populations, but what you are describing sounds a lot more like a case of a father or grandfather not being your biological father or grandfather. This is uncovered quite frequently in commercial DNA testing.
23andMe sometimes has trouble sorting out West German and English. This is common knowledge among the Nothin’ But A Good Time Calgary Stampeders vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Stamps Stampede Bowl July 3rd 2025 Mcmahon Stadium Shirt Furthermore, I will do this 23andMe community and genetic genealogists. If you are able to get your parents tested then get your results phased with theirs, then your ancestry estimate would get corrected and changed to be more accurate. If you were able to get all of your grandparents tests then phased with your parents, then phased with yours then that would be the best case scenario but often not possible. My grandfather swore up and down that he has 50% Scottish ancestry and 50% English (on his mom’s side). His mom’s maiden name was German (likely ancestry), but was from England. It happens. DNA isn’t inherited in neat halves, quarters, eighths, etc like everyone is taught in their basic high school biology course.
Also, as others have mentioned, what is “English”? There’s been so much admixture of different groups over thousands of years. That’s not unlike trying to define an American ethnic group. Sounds like your paternal grandfather either doesn’t have the Nothin’ But A Good Time Calgary Stampeders vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Stamps Stampede Bowl July 3rd 2025 Mcmahon Stadium Shirt Furthermore, I will do this lineage you think he does or he is not your biological grandfather. I was an amateur genealogy hobbyist awhile back and I found that many ancestors who immigrated were running from a past they wanted to hide. I found entire families that were never mentioned. It’s common to lie about heritage, ethnicity, country of origin, etc for a whole slew of reasons. Depending on the age of your paternal grandfather, he may not have wanted to admit to any ties with WW2 Germany for example.
It’s funny sometimes. I’m American. My mother, grandma, and great-grandma was born in France. So was I. But I got like 7.8% France. I’m like wtf? So I did some research. Turns out that the Nothin’ But A Good Time Calgary Stampeders vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Stamps Stampede Bowl July 3rd 2025 Mcmahon Stadium Shirt Furthermore, I will do this only extended family from France that pops up is those that have lived abroad since WW2. Places like Cuba, mexica, and what not. So I start researching and found that these kinds of dna tests are illegal in France. For reasons of filiation. In a nutshell, France doesn’t want families to be broken up if/when some kids don’t match with their daddies. lol. I mentioned this to my mom and she said, “of course they don’t want that because French men are pigs and they sleep around…. and it took me a bit to explain to her (she’s 82) that if my brother Jean-Claude doesn’t match up with papa, that’s not on papa, that’s on Maman!
My ex has mixed kids. Black, Mexican and white. The DNA test came back and said they had all kinds of European ancestry and Mexican. Nothing about African. Those sites are trash. Your DNA isn’t an even split of 50% of all of dads heritage and all of moms heritage. So you received more of the Nothin’ But A Good Time Calgary Stampeders vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Stamps Stampede Bowl July 3rd 2025 Mcmahon Stadium Shirt Furthermore, I will do this German DNA, and very little of the English. If you have a sibling, they will have different results as well. This is why you see some families where the kid look like a complete copy of dad, well that means there is more dna shared from dads side then moms, while the other kid looks just like mom sharing more DNA with a different heritage your DNA as in gene distribution should be a perfectly even split from mom and dad, barred things like crossing over. It;s grand parents where the split is no longer necessarily equal to the expectation.
You are absolutely right! It’s 50/50 from mom and dad but the Nothin’ But A Good Time Calgary Stampeders vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Stamps Stampede Bowl July 3rd 2025 Mcmahon Stadium Shirt Furthermore, I will do this percentage from dad (or mom’s) heritage isn’t 50/50. If dad is 50% Greek and 50% Chinese and mom is 50% polish and 50% Cuban, you are not getting an even 25% of each. It could be 40% Greek, 10% Chinese, 30% polish and 20% Cuban. These tests reveal family secrets routinely. But English ppl are Germanic and Celtic. Looks like you got all Germanic. My family said they were German. Granddad the youngest of 9 German immigrant kids. His dad was a nazi. He was a nationalist perhaps to compensate for not being German cus DNA test came back Scandinavian. When I looked up the town they’re from is was less than an hour from the border. Nazis weren’t just German nationalists, they believed this whole racist thing that said that “Aryans” are the superior race of people. Scandinavians were also supposed to be descended from Aryans, so honestly it makes sense and your ancestor wasn’t a hypocrite. Still a racist idiot, but not a hypocrite. 23andMe is well known to have difficulty distinguishing German and English ancestry, there are a lot of common markers between the two populations.
DNA doesn’t work mathematically. You might have 25% English, or half, or 82% or 1%. Even among full-siblings, the Nothin’ But A Good Time Calgary Stampeders vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Stamps Stampede Bowl July 3rd 2025 Mcmahon Stadium Shirt Furthermore, I will do this amounts of “ethnicity” each inherit from the parents are variable. Also, the DNA results show where people who share similar DNA to yours currently live; not where your ancestors are actually from. Maybe they only tested half of your blood sample, and it just had the DNA from one side? Ask them if they can retest but mix the blood better next time? I think this is an issue caused by political correctness. The test must use the word “English” and “German” rather than “Saxon” because racial language is hateful. They have no choice but to use cultural euphemism when discussing genetic markers.
Factually, there is no “German” race so what they are really saying is that you are Frankish, Frisian, Saxon, and Alemanni… those are the Nothin’ But A Good Time Calgary Stampeders vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Stamps Stampede Bowl July 3rd 2025 Mcmahon Stadium Shirt Furthermore, I will do this majority racial roots of the anglosphere, and what people instantly recognize as “English looking”. There was a study done on all those supposed ancestry DNA places. They’re wildly inaccurate. Same DNA yields different results at different places. I would go with what you know instead of their inaccurate findings. I’m second generation from immigrants from the UK and Ireland. Both DNA studies I’ve submitted say about the same and match my known genealogy. I’m 66 so I think that might be why there isn’t more variety in my DNA. My kids and grandkids DNA is probably more varied. Idk why people do this. People have been screwing each other globally for so long that it’s not even worthwhile unless it’s for medical reasons.
I got a dog DNA test (Embarked) for my white, curly haired, stuffed animal of a doodle and it told me he was 25% German Shepherd and 25% pit bull, so there’s a chance these tests are absolutely useless. I solve DNA mysteries and help adopted children identify birth parents on a volunteer basis. The answer to the Nothin’ But A Good Time Calgary Stampeders vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Stamps Stampede Bowl July 3rd 2025 Mcmahon Stadium Shirt Furthermore, I will do this question you have usually has one answer. Someone who thought they were the father…was not.
They have a person of interest in custody. This person lived in a trailer behind the Nothin’ But A Good Time Calgary Stampeders vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Stamps Stampede Bowl July 3rd 2025 Mcmahon Stadium Shirt Furthermore, I will do this family’s home and was supposed to drop her off at the bus stop, as he had done in the past. He also has “an extensive criminal history, including enticing a minor in 2008.” This is so horrible. If all of my friends play magic the gathering, and all have magic the gathering tattoos, how likely is it that I also play magic the gathering? Racists are pieces of shit but i don’t assume that they’re also likely to be pedophiles, is that the implication? Yep. Idiot dad let’s pedo friend live in a camper on his property and interact with his young child. Practically fed her to this monster. How could any functioning person think that was a good idea?
Unfortunately it happens. My babysitter was a pedo and my mom knew. Even after I told her what happened to me by him. When I finally stood up for myself my mom called me a “bitch” and that if I told anyone my dad would die. She stands by that to this day. I’m no contact with her now but it’s still years of brainwashing that I had to unpack. I am so sorry that happened to you. I hope you are living a happy life right now. I know it’s something that never goes away. Sending you love. I’m so sorry that this happened to you. I’m so sorry that you weren’t protected by the Nothin’ But A Good Time Calgary Stampeders vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Stamps Stampede Bowl July 3rd 2025 Mcmahon Stadium Shirt Furthermore, I will do this adults who were supposed to protect you. Sending you love and care. so sorry you went through that…… there was a lady psychiatrist who worked in the prison system 1 particular prisoner was a pedophile she treated him I remember a podcast I saw with a documentarian who looked at (I believe I Germany) and met with an admitted pedo. When he showed up, he was with a little boy. He was babysitting. Socked, the guy told him the mom knew. After meeting with the mom, who was very liberal, said it was OK to let pedo’s babysit her kids because it was therapeutic for them and we shouldn’t judge. I am sorry, but putting your kids in danger of being sexually abused by child predators because you want to be on the progressive side of pedophiles as marginalized group is disgusting.
So true, my parents are like that. Growing up, I was severely physically abused by a relative, my parents knew about the Nothin’ But A Good Time Calgary Stampeders vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Stamps Stampede Bowl July 3rd 2025 Mcmahon Stadium Shirt Furthermore, I will do this abuse but did nothing Pedo-NAZI camper. Seriously, even if he didn’t know the guy was a Pedo why would you let your daughter anywhere near someone with those tattoos. I’m going with ‘birds of a feather…’ when I saw this person and their criminal record, coupled with unsupervised access, and a missing child, I already knew it was a dispicable situation. I also saw that Mom wasn’t allowed to have visits anymore due to a history substance use disorder, but dad was A-OK with a Nazi predator? Texas is usually over-eager to place kids in the system, what happened here? A complete abandonment of our young by the republicans while preaching hypocritical lines about children being precious and fetuses having souls, they don’t care, it’s just talking points to them.
Exactly. And as dark as it is to say, the Nothin’ But A Good Time Calgary Stampeders vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Stamps Stampede Bowl July 3rd 2025 Mcmahon Stadium Shirt Furthermore, I will do this sad truth is that we will see more cases like this in the future as people who aren’t prepared or mentally equipped to have kids are forced to have them. As someone that works in mental health. A large portion of the people seeking help were abused by step parents, romantic partners, grandparents, neighbors, etc for years. Often kid reports it to parent that ignores the kid or doesn’t believe them. Criminal history, swastika tattoos (seen in other photos), enticing a minor. Yup, exactly the kind of guy you want near your kid. Parents should probably be charged with negligence. They basically gift wrapped this little girl to a monster. mom was out of the picture not allowed to visit anymore she had a history of substance use disorder…….it is scary that the dad was the supposed better parent out of these 2
Especially since courts are super against giving sole custody to fathers, the Nothin’ But A Good Time Calgary Stampeders vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Stamps Stampede Bowl July 3rd 2025 Mcmahon Stadium Shirt Furthermore, I will do this dad doesn’t just have to be a better choice, he has to somehow prove that the mother is unfit. I knew they weren’t going to find her alive as soon as they named a “person of interest”, and said “person of interest” was bringing law enforcements to places he brought her…still unbelievably sad though. That’s the thing. I understand that eugenics is a bad thing, but it’s incredibly fucking hard to justify anyone being able to have kids when child abuse and murder is so incredibly rampant. And we only hear about a tiny percentage of it-whatever is covered in the media. and now conservatives are trying to make it harder for people who know they shouldn’t have kids to avoid accidental pregnancies and essentially forcing births
cases of child abuse and neglect will only skyrocket and this is only the Nothin’ But A Good Time Calgary Stampeders vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Stamps Stampede Bowl July 3rd 2025 Mcmahon Stadium Shirt Furthermore, I will do this tip of the iceberg of the stories that will come If you read some of the articles people have posted in this thread, its worse than that. He lived in a trailer on the Dad’s property and was frequently used as a babysitter for her. Absolutely horrible. I hope her father never has a restful night again for allowing that man to be in her life. (And much worse things I can’t say without risk of being banned) That poor little girl. I think her monster father should get nearly the same penalty as the monster who kidnapped, (likely) SA’d, and murdered this little girl. If he had been doing the most basic work as a parent, she never would have been unprotected against him.
