Well, what that taught me, is adaptability! I would stuff the Nick Castellanos Philadelphia Signature American professional baseball right fielder T-Shirt moreover I will buy this cutlet in my cheek pouches, like a hamster. I would demonstrate my plate, and get green light from the teacher to go for that nap. I would then pop into the bathroom, and empty my cheek pouches into the toilet. Used that clever technique for months before I was caught. Then it was smooth sailing with no forced feedings until first year of school… This seems to be a Boomer thing, that has unfortunately passed down into the GenX parenting book, but is less prevalent in Millennial parenting styles and definitely rare in GenZ Parenting. Usually Mom or Grandma pulled the, “You’re not getting up until you finish your plate” nonsense. I then sat for anywhere between 1 – 6 hours, refusing to touch the food, while also ignoring them completely. Just because I wasn’t allowed to leave the table, doesn’t mean I had to participate! Usually ended with them caving in because my ignoring them, was teaching my younger sister to ignore them too! This all ended when I got sick of it around 9-10 years old, and started shoving my finger down my throat right there at the table as soon as the words left their mouths. A few exorcist – reenactments, and they left me to my own devices. When I was finished eating, I could leave of my own accord.

Yeah we just say if you don’t finish your food no bed time snack… it’s to make sure they actually eat vs just trying to eat unhealthy food all the Nick Castellanos Philadelphia Signature American professional baseball right fielder T-Shirt moreover I will buy this time. Both of my parents were War immigrants and I am the only american-born child of theirs. I grew up with the whole “eat everything on your plate no matter what” or else I would get a beating, but also being berated for being fat which I can remember being called by my mother as young as three or four years old. This was the start of a lifetime of serious eating disorders and body dysmorphia that I am always going to live with. Some parents are just really good at passing on their traumas to their kids. I have two teenagers now and I never make them eat anything they don’t want to eat, but I’ve also taught them how to cook so that way if they don’t want to eat when I’m eating they can fend for themselves.
