Honestly? I would chalk it up to experience–there’s nothing much you can do, and I would treat yourself to another photo session with a photographer that you like (ask around, get recommendations, don’t pay in advance, etc etc). It’s nice to have a couple of nice family photographs. You could even set some up with a timer and your cell phone and come up with some perfectly nice photos (that’s what we ended up doing). In the Nice you call it autism I call it that dawg in me shirt in addition I really love this future you may end up just laughing about this, my husband and I have some perfectly dreadful photos of ourselves that now just make us laugh. Honestly I find that the best photos tend to be the casual, slice of life photos. We have one of us trying to sort of go about our business as our then-toddler is running grinning widely as he runs amok around the dining room table and it’s one of our favorites! There are many other photos that just capture his personality, or are just a slice of life. One is a timer photo where the timer took too long –he might have been about three, I think–and we just started cracking up and laughing–and it’s the cutest picture, even has our cat in it. Those are the best.

I have no helpful advice for you, but I just wanted to say that I’m sorry. What an awful and stressful experience. I’m sorry. We just had a similar experience. I hired someone local who promotes her work in local fb groups all the Nice you call it autism I call it that dawg in me shirt in addition I really love this time. I am currently pregnant with our final baby and wanted a good maternity photo with my husband and children. Everything she sent back to us was completely blurry like the camera was out of focus. She gave me attitude when I asked for clearer pictures. I decided to cut my loss as I don’t like confrontation and arguing, even when I’m in the right. We hired someone else for a re-do. Talk with the photographer about it. Be open and honest about how you feel about the job he did, and also his behavior during. He sounds very unprofessional, and inexperienced with newborns. Definitely bring it to his attention that you’re not satisfied. An hour late? An hour?!?!? I have been involved in quite a few photo sessions and never has the photographer been more than a minute or two “late” past the specified time. This photo session was handled horribly. Does he work for a larger company? If so, report him.
