After college, the friend moved back to her hometown 4 hours away. It wasn’t uncommon for her to come down and visit for a weekend and she’d usually get to our place Friday around noon while my wife was working. We would just hang out and shoot the shit, watch TV, etc. My wife has another friend that was a coworker at the time and she was mortified by this. She thought it was totally inappropriate for us to hang out “without supervision.” Your friend and her fiancée likely have a relationship built on trust and respect and this is a non-issue for them, especially if the content of the texts are objectively appropriate.
