I was excited about TFA and I remember liking it the Nice 24 7 365 the rock shirt and I love this first time I watched it. Then, I rewatched it… and realized it was bad. I remember trying to be excited for it but I watched and watched how each part don’t seem cohesive, people just show up and go, not much about the plot. Just a lot of member berries and a action sequence every once in a while. All of my friends were pissed that Luke Skywalker was barely in it. I was so confused. Why would he be in it at all? I was shocked to see him! I thought it was a great movie theater experience. I’m not a Star Wars fan, though, so I had literally no expectations or understanding of what should or shouldn’t be. Yeah I remember thinking it was 100% a bad thing that any of the original cast showed up at all. Han solo dying was just like “OK, cool, dunno why he was even here. I don’t care.”

Yupp. In theaters everyone was excited, Star Wars was back on the Nice 24 7 365 the rock shirt and I love this silver screen! It was like it was 2005 again. Excitement was too high to notice the flaws, people were too curious about who Rey was, is Finn force sensitive, what’s the deal with the First Order, who do you think Snoke is, and so on. TFA was great movie for the exact situation it released in. It was a remake of a 50-year old film in one of the most beloved franchises ever. I saw it too when it came out and it was awesome in the theater. On rewatches it becomes clear what it really is and yeah.. It’s not great It could have paved the way into a well thought out modern trilogy though. It was good enough to get us going but then it all fell apart. I’m only not bitter because my expectations were so low. Yes it very well could have been the start of a great trilogy, it stole some plot notes from all 3 of the OG trilogy, which felt kinda of like a homage to it.
