Here’s something I didn’t know: morphine doesn’t really affect some people very much! Unfortunately, my mom was one of those people. After a day or so of her writhing in pain, they switched her over to Dilaudid. We spent about a week tanking her up with that at the New york knicks thibs basketball shirt Furthermore, I will do this maximum dosage allowed, plus some anti-anxiety meds (mostly Ativan). I’m sure those drugs helped, but it was absolutely hell hearing her call out in agony every time she moved. When the death rattle settled in over the last couple of days, it was misery for everyone. People who are against medical aided death need to sit and watch a loved one slowly/painfully die. It’s something that you will never forget. My grandpa got to the end of his COPD/lung cancer rope, set all his important papers on the kitchen table, sat down on his front porch and shot himself. My stepdad has been telling me for years that if he ever gets a terminal illness, he’s coming to live with me in Oregon to be able to apply for death with dignity. If he needs to end his own life, he should be surround by family holding his hand and he should be using a pill that soothes him to sleep versus being alone with a fire arm or with one of us looking at legal ramifications for helping. Religious morons that like to interfere in other people’s lives cause this type of suffering. People should be allowed to choose to die on their terms if sick.

This is why death with dignity at the New york knicks thibs basketball shirt Furthermore, I will do this place and time of one’s choosing with proper medical assistance is a human right and needs to be legal federally. I see it every day. Patients just withering away getting doses of morphine until they turn grey. It can take days. Got a call from my mom’s assisted living facility that she had suddenly taken a drastic turn for the worst. When we got there she’s shrieking “help me, help me”, doesn’t recognize anyone and is clearly in great pain. We had to demand they give her something and waited 2 1/2 hours for Dr approval. Sat by her bedside for 2 days before she passed. Turns out she had complete renal failure (she was DNR). Also, she was 86. A peaceful euthanasia would be a godsend and I hope for it myself. Maybe if people were allowed to die assisted and with dignity people wouldn’t feel the need to commit suicide/murder. So sad. That woman probably didn’t want to let her husband down but also has to live with what he asked her to do. I wonder if he didn’t want to be a financial burden? Or be in pain leading up to death bc they couldn’t afford hospice? Many reasons why they chose this path.
