My dad listens to OANN and all that shit and he’s getting really snappish and pissy. Any disagreement is “elitism” and the New York Jets Super Star shirt in other words I will buy this personal opinion trumps all. It’s proof that the system is flawed that he disagrees with it. System = science. Education. That sort of stuff. I know what’s going on but it’s sad watching it happen. He’s retired. Cut off from interacting with real people. Plays video games, surfs Facebook, listens to OANN. He wants to move out to the middle of nowhere so he doesn’t have to be around people. Older white America has a choice about where it goes. And it’s choosing the really bad path. They could accept that the system has fucked over a lot of people and we need to make it right, or they can see the need to make it right as an attack on THEIR way of life and fight it every step of the way. It’s just me, him, my bro, and my step-mother. He and my mother moved out of the south and cut themselves off from their families because they were SUPER problematic.

He talked about a family reunion for a bit, but I highly suspect when they found out he’d married a Chinese woman, the New York Jets Super Star shirt in other words I will buy this welcome wasn’t quite so open. Turns out I’m on the spectrum too, and that’s something he’d never accept as real (also ace, and he’d never understand that…) It’s just sad to now how so many people have lived their lives in a little box, snapping at anything that comes by trying to open it up, and live in limits and fear. I don’t think that’s it. I think we’re watching a small, old minority violently reacting to the fact that most of society is changing for the better. This outrage is only occurring because we are winning. If being accepted for who you are wasn’t becoming mainstream (especially with the younger generations) then I doubt we’d be seeing such high levels of hatred.
