I’m sorry to say that 3D and VFX artists are generally exploited. I hope that you can find a place that recognizes your contributions and pays appropriately. As someone who, eventually but likely has to get personal stuff sorted out, wants to get into the game dev industry … I see the signs of a shit company with horrible practices easily here. If you can’t even use the work you’re doing in a portfolio you’re literally getting nothing for the work you’re doing, get out asap even if it means taking a boring job but if it gives you time to do freelance or work on your portfolio at least you’re working towards something.
