This was me having my to spin a fellow member of the ensemble for 32 counts in the song “Heaven is a Place on Earth”. It was somewhat terrifying to achieve each night but we made it happen. Well, that was until they caught COVID our last weekend of performing and I had to come up with a solo dance four nights in a row on a whim! Oh lord, the things COVID put our productions through. You wouldn’t catch me holding -anyone- up on my 140lb frame, but it has always been my dream to be spun during a solo lol, so extra And YES gurl! COVID closed down two of my productions: Rocky Horror and Much Ado About Nothing. We had to close Rocky one week early due to cast member concerns and then Much Ado About Nothing was cancelled halfway into the rehearsal process. I was cast as Don Pedro and honestly, that missed opportunity has stuck with me. Living in the deep south means we got away with some riskier health moves for some productions, but I -caught- COVID the first time around by going to see A Chorus Line :4806:

They invited me to audition for the Never Thought I’d Be Wearing a Unicorn But Here We Are T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this production when they remounted and I was actually pretty stoked until I found out that I’d only be onstage at the very beginning and very end. I then went with Head Over Heels, which was a decision that I truly think damaged my outlook in the eyes of that particular director. La Grand Dame is ageless lol she feels like an immortal witch that just stumbled onto set one day and will vanish back to her planet once she’s cleaned the competition up. I love the age comparison because it’s so fascinating to me the different nature of each queen when they’re the same age. I love Sapphira but are we sure she didn’t shave a few years off? She just exudes wisdom, which I mean doesn’t have to come with age but often does.
