Big night out on Saturday, home at 4am, sleep til 11am, lie in bed for a few hours, order maccies at 2pm. That’s not my idea of a great weekend but it’s also not that unusual! I have been known to regrettably order a McDs for lunch maybe once every 6 months around lunchtime. I’m a freelancer and sometimes too busy to go get food/cook, plus I feel like I’m treating myself… that is until I bite down and realise why I haven’t done this in 6 months. And then I have the runs and god awful stomach ache and it all ends with prolapsed hems, shooting man period all over the china. It caters to a surprisingly wide array of nonstandard dietary requirements considering its rep, so it’s not a terrible lowest-common-denominator choice for multiple people. Sometimes I really fancy a McDonalds. Not a burger, a McDonalds. And a McFlurry. Especially when the creme egg one’s around.

Lovely services, though – I can think of far worse places to be stranded. Yeah and I know logically it’s better manually assembled because it’ll be fresher but honestly, it’s Maccies – it’s the same whether it’s fresh or 5 minutes under a heat lamp. It’s not great value, it’s not great taste, it’s not great nutrition, now they don’t have fast they don’t have any reason to exist.
