I hate it. Supporting someone doing something is a far cry from doing the thing. WE are not pregnant. SHE is pregnant. WE are expecting, WE are having a baby, but only one of us is permanently changing our bodies and risking our lives. Nope. I’m old school. I don’t get periods or cramps, or morning sickness, or sweats, or lugging a growing belly around, worrying about post natal weight loss, the pain of childbirth, etc etc. I’m not pregnant, and I’m not going to dilute or take away from what she has to go through. I couldn’t possibly care less. The couple gets to pick the exact language they want to use. I am not going to nitpick over it.

Meh. As someone currently pregnant, there are other more irritating things to deal with. This is neither here nor there for me. Really don’t like it. I think ‘we’re expecting’ is fine but not ‘we’re pregnant’. Pregnancy is a specific, incredibly difficult and quite dangerous process undertaken exclusively by the NC State Wolfpack 2024 Men’s basketball Tournament Champs why not us shirt in contrast I will get this person carrying the baby, and no matter how supportive or loving their partner is, they aren’t going through it themselves. ‘Equally responsible for the child’ doesn’t mean ‘bearing an equal share of the burden of pregnancy’. You can be the best and kindest and most supportive partner in the world and you still aren’t dealing with one moment of the physical toil and danger of pregnancy. It’s weird and inaccurate. We aren’t pregnant. She’s not pregnant either I’m pretty sure, but when she is, I still will not be.
