How does this address the NC State Basketball DJ Burns Jr Shirt in contrast I will get this issue of both companies being owned by the same parent organization though? Unless you’re suggesting they forcibly divest YouTube from Alphabet This is the go-to response when someone even mentions that YouTube’s a “monopoly.” Like, there is literally nothing any governing force could do to break it up because there’s nothing to break up to begin with You could decouple it from the rest of google. You could separate the news streaming from the personal uploads from the streaming from the reels. There’s a ton of options. Or, as was the case with the google play store case, the courts could just force a change of business practices. I know they’re out there but only alternative to YouTube as video sharing platform and not just short forms that *I can think of is Dailymotion and Vimeo which is trash ngl Just because the company puts in the effort and work to be the dominant video platform doesn’t mean its their fault other companies are trash. As far as I know, YouTube isn’t actively stifling other company’s ability to compete through nefarious means. Vimeo’s a pretty good platform imo. Older than YouTube even, but it’s not a YouTube alternative. It’s mostly used as a portfolio for videographers for high-quality content. People pay a subscription fee for their videos to be hosted — typically shown free of charge without ads, or others use it to host subscription content or more generally as a CDN. It’s a completely different business model. For example, a filmmaker might use it to host their film privately and send it as a limited-time link for a film festival submission.

NC State Basketball DJ Burns Jr Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

Yeah there are dozens of videos hosting and sharing sites. Just because YouTube has the NC State Basketball DJ Burns Jr Shirt in contrast I will get this biggest market share doesn’t make them a monopoly. It is a natural monopoly, and so are many other internet platforms. With youtube specifically, there’s such a high barrier-to-entry in regards to server space and active user base, it means any competition would require another company with an equal amount of monopolization in another field (like, Amazon or Microsoft) to fund another platform to even have a chance at “competing”, but even then it would be an uphill battle that would likely be lost. If you went after Youtube for being a monopoly, then the only real solution to that would be the nationalization of Youtube, because the requirements of youtube as a platform needs a company as large as Google to support it. YouTube built itself up and Google bought it. At the time Dailymotion, Vimeo and others were competing too. The fact it was bought by Google means nothing. Vimeo was bought by College Humour, Dailymotion is owned by Bloomberg, in North America. It isn’t like the alternatives are not owned by companies with funding.
