AirBnB is now readily accepting trivially easily faked host reports of out of app texts from guests in order to justify removing bad reviews – we see reports regularly here now of hosts defrauding guests and when there’s a complaint, falsely claiming that the Nba jam the best dou’s russell cousy boston football T-Shirt moreover I love this guest tried to extort them, etc. These setups and others seem to go in favor of the fraudulent host and result in removal of bad reviews on a widespread and systematic basis, indicating that AirBnB is intentionally facilitating the removal of truthful bad reviews – is there a way to ensure that CS reps take seriously a response that host submitted conversations outside the app are faked and require other evidence? This would be mishandling, because we need several pieces of data to link messages to users – date, time and phone number. Limit your conversations with Hosts to Airbnb’s message threads, and if you’re contacted by CS saying your review was removed, call about it and ask to review the documentation behind the decision. We can reinstate reviews just as easily as we can delete them.

This deserves award. Worst thing about Airbnb and happened to me, where the Nba jam the best dou’s russell cousy boston football T-Shirt moreover I love this host fabricated texts and then screenshots. I knew it was fake because I never communicated with anyone outside the app. Do repeated review removals from the same host for the same reasons get flagged for further attention? It really looks like there are hosts getting away with gaming the review removal system and I’m wondering if there’s any truth to that. No, and this is one of the things that really irks me about how reviews are handled with the current system. Bad actors will inevitably always find a way to abuse the tools provided to them, and if they aren’t doing anything wrong according to policy we can’t do anything about this. You can fill out Airbnb’s feedback form and mention this – it actually works and that’s how policy changes happen, albeit after v a long wait time. Internally though we have a different system to identify which users to be careful with and who to escalate directly without even sending a message.
