Long story short: if you can afford a cleaner, you can afford to pay them well. So it’s good to see many replies here that go up to £16 and higher. £35 and they do around 1.5 hours. It’s appalling to pay minimum or even living wage when it’s not a full days work. If you’re paying cash, you know it’s being under declared and they are evading tax/collecting benefits. I’m starting to think it isn’t enough, but we also pay when we’re on holiday or she’s sick. So she’s guaranteed that money regardless of if we cancel or she does for any reasonable reason.
