For cleansing oil, I have 3 different kinds and they all work great. My least expensive is kose and most expensive is dermalogica. Just make sure you buy a “cleansing oil” and not just “oil” from your kitchen and don’t try to make it. You only need to oil cleanse at night. A bottle could easily last 6 months (1-2 pumps). It is a small investment with great returns.. good luck. I have had more than 1 round of accutane, multiple trips w/prescription meds to treat acne and have had scarring. I saw results from oil cleansing in less than 2 days.. you just may not be aware that it is really hard to remove sunscreen, makeup, etc. Cleansing oil is kryptonite to that stuff and leaves your face clean so your skin is prepped and ready for treatments. Also, I find that sometimes all your skin needs is to be clean. I had to pull back on some of my Mott The Hoople All The Young Dudes 1972 Shirt Additionally,I will love this treatments because they are now too harsh. I nearly have glass skin. The word ‘oil’ has put me off in the past because in my head I think oil would clog things up! I’m curious about how it works too, though it DEFINITELY works. Not OP but I use the DHC cleansing oil and the first time I used it last week after probably a year of not using it… I was rubbing so many tiny sebaceous filament chunks across my face, it was like I was using an exfoliation scrub. I think that people tend to think of cleansing oil as being close to vaseline, which I wouldn’t have in my house, ever. It’s a petrochemical and an occlusive. DHC’s cleansing oil, on the other hand is olive oil based, and that kind of oil helps to soften the plug on the outside of the blackheads. I swear by DHC cleansing oil as a first step for nightly cleansing. Then I use SkinCeuticals cleanser. It’s because oil and water doesn’t mix, so when you use a cleansing oil, oil-based stuff like makeup, SPF, and sebum actually stick to it. You then emulsify it with water and then use a gentle water-based cleanser to remove all of the cleansing oil.
