There are many that still find this going ‘too far,’ but as mentioned, it does no harm, all it does is delay something that’s going to happen anyway, but they’ll have more control of it later. No, young children are NOT being given sex-change operations. Prepubescent kids can be given puberty-blockers, but ALL those meds do are put off puberty. Once the Mothers Day I’m A Proud Mom Of A Freaking Awesome Hearts Stars T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this meds are stopped, the individual will go through puberty. It isn’t permanent. It can be helpful, though, for kids who are trans, because once they go through puberty, you can’t undo it without surgery. For a trans boy, growing breasts could cause body dysphoria. Some hospitals had a policy of some gender-affirming surgery for 16 and up. But the same law-makers who want that stopped are the same ones who say that a 16 year-old can be tried as an adult. So we need consistency. Either under 18 are children, or 16 and up can make some decisions for themselves. Many others have answered the original question, so I’ll point out something else. People like you, who are uninformed, are exactly who all the disingenuous Republicans are making up this shit for. They want to have people think that all these kids are getting sex change surgeries to enrage their dumb as a brick base, who refuse to question these outlandish claims. Wish more people were like you, to actually take a claim they heard and try to find out the truth. Good on you. The ones who believe it all and stand behind these god awful laws blocking these kids medical care and threatening to take them from their parents are literally ruining lives

No, and they never did (edited to include here in the Mothers Day I’m A Proud Mom Of A Freaking Awesome Hearts Stars T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this UK). At best a doctor might give someone under 18 hormone blockers, which would allow them time to think and decide if they sre actually transgender or if it really was just a ‘phase’. After they turn 18, they would need to undergo months of counselling and appointments before they would be considered for hormones, and would need to live as their preferred gender for a couple of years before they would be considered for any kind of surgery. It’s happening. Reuters reported that surgeries, including genital surgeries, are being done on minors according to an analysis of insurance claims. I should have caveated that my comment related specifically to my experience of the healthcare system in the UK. I don’t support giving hormones other than blockers to children, and I don’t believe that has been a thing here. Despite what the media says.
