I’ll come at this from the Moth Insect Bug Cottagecore Butterfly T-Shirt and by the same token and other side. I was the one that asked, thinking it would spice up our life. But deep down I knew I had no interest in her anymore. We never went through with is though. In the end I manned up and just asked for a divorce. Made no sense putting both of us through that Opening an originally monogamous relationship never works. Ever. It will work at most for like a month, but it is a death sentence for the relationship. It either starts mutually consenting for it to be open or it won’t work. My mind cannot be changed on this. If they want to suddenly open it, they have already picked out the person they’ll be fucking and they’re looking for a way to disqualify that from the word “cheating” I would end it right then and there lol. polygamists will argue that monogamy is selfish, while I’d argue that polygamy is selfish lol. Have an honest discussion about what our relationship expectations are, figure out if we’re on the Moth Insect Bug Cottagecore Butterfly T-Shirt and by the same token and same page, or even in the same book. I’ve seen assorted poly relationships done really well, and also seen them done reeeeally badly. Sometimes involving some of the same people (learning from mistakes is good). I would be alright with it, so long as clear rules and boundaries are set. Communication, as with anything in a relationship, is key. Personally, I don’t believe that a human as an animal is naturally monogamous. Our instincts constantly war with our societal norms over this. I’m happily in a monogamous relationship, however that doesn’t mean I don’t desire to have sex with others. I just don’t act on those desires.
