Vera got a job in San Francisco shortly after and attributes the Monte Carlo Ss Shirt also I will do this boost in motivation to Miss Edie. “Miss Edie was my lifeline,” she tells me. “I was caregiving for her, but she also was for me.” Samantha is the sort of sentimental “super saver” who carries things from her childhood—a cotton candy machine, a colonial lamp—everywhere: from her parents’ home in the Bay Area to Annapolis, where she studied philosophy, and back to Oakland, where she’s lived for the past 10 years (with a quick stint in Italy somewhere in between).

Monte Carlo Ss Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

Her zeal for Nextdoor began after her company of 14 years laid her off. 23 sales and $1,000 later, she made rent and some much-needed emotional connection. Samantha lives alone and works for her 102-year-old grandmother as a landscaper (she recently moved 6,000 pounds of pebbles in one day for a mini zen garden). Needless to say, her pandemic pod is small. The people she met through Nextdoor became some of her only social interactions.

1. Length is measured from the highest point on the collar down to the bottom hem. 2. Width is measured across the body of the shirt under the armpits, one way. 3. Sleeves are measured from center back to hem.
