I didn’t watch it until I got HBO Max. I watched it all in about a month and I quite enjoyed it. Saw the first episode through a friend who worked for Comcast and got a DVD before it was released. While it looked okay, I didn’t want to invest that much time. This. I think it would be dumb not to try something that popular – if so many people love it, maybe it’s something good that I’ll enjoy too. But I watched most of the first episode and didn’t enjoy it – I have a short attention span, and it moved too slowly for my personal taste. Exactly. If the speed of the first episode was any kind of indicator, it would have been like 6 hours before anything mildly entertaining would happen.

It’s true. I am happy for people who love that stuff, but I have never been into it. It’s just not my thing. That’s not to say I never see “fun” movies. I saw Barbie. I did not find it life-altering. It was okay. If you read books yourself you’ll understand why…it is difficult for TV shows to recreate what your imagination through reading builds and it can end up underwhelming. Definitely. I’m a voracious reader. I don’t read sci-fi or fantasy, either, but I love horror and there’s some overlap there. I rarely love the movie version of anything as much as I love the book. There are a few exceptions like The Shining and Misery.

I didn’t watch it because I never watch media that’s hyped up everywhere, because I know it won’t live up to my expectations and I’ll be disappointed (also never watched Squid Games, etc). I’ll wait twenty years for everyone to forget about it and then watch it maybe. Same here. Not a single episode. I love good fantasy but his books are shit.
