Ha! If ever you needed a confirmation on whether the Mitch Garver American professional baseball catcher Texas Garv Sauce T-Shirt in other words I will buy this current farmer ‘protest’ in Punjab is genuine or not, this is it. The government just made a huge concession, one that might take a lot of money out of India’s future infrastructure, health, education and defense budgets. But they still maintain that they won’t settle for anything less than the acceptance of all their demands, that is Halt privatisation in the energy sector, which really has nothing with farming and is only being asked because private power companies are less likely to let farmers get away with power theft and non-payment of bills. A comprehensive public sector crop insurance scheme for farmers, probably funded by the centre(I don’t even want to think about how much this would cost).

Rs. 10000 monthly pension to farmers above 60 years age, which would cost at least a few lakh crores per year more given that it would cover crores of old farmers. These demands have been made knowing fully well that they would bankrupt the Mitch Garver American professional baseball catcher Texas Garv Sauce T-Shirt in other words I will buy this country and therefore would be rejected by the government. The purpose of this protest is to disrupt ordinary people’s lives and embarrass the government, not to win a single concession to help farmers. And let’s not get into the other “Dilli Chalo” group of protesters who have even more outrageous demands like an extra Rs 10 lakh crore per year for farmer wages, free power and water, India quitting the WTO and cancelling all international free trade deals.
