Yikes I’m old enough to remember when tons of high quality DLC would be released post-launch for free. It let the customer know the studio would support the product after launch, and that goodwill would pay off when people were deciding whether or not to buy the sequel. it really fucking did. I might have just been made more aware of these “DLC” nickel and diming practices after horse armor but after that bullshit I could have sworn companies in different industries started getting creative too. Things like airlines started splitting economy into basic, preferred, premium. Everyone here is whining so I’ll probably get flamed, but I don’t care about cosmetic only mtx in a game that’s actually good. Diablo 4 is a great game. So what if they sell some armor that doesn’t affect the game at all? Hardly bothers me.

I liked the Minnesota Vikings Best Dad Ever American Flag Shirt Furthermore, I will do this part where the horse armor came out and people flipped out about it, but Bethesda mocked them saying it was a joke, its irony, blah blah blha. I knew this was gamer gas lightning. Why was every one bitching about the people calling it like it was? We, our selves, insisted the complainers were being hyperbolic. I wish the meme had the new d4 horse armor obviously monetized instead of a weirdly cropped screenshot of currency options I always find it funny when I see the “buy this many and get this many free!” Like no, I’m paying for the 2nd amount. I am not getting something free if it requires a purchase. There was actually a dlc for halo 1 that predates the horse armor. That was the real start of the end. I remember thinking that when it happened back then… Honestly, dlc doesn’t really bother me, micro transactions either. I think it’s really more “is the game good” “did the developer spend more time on the ‘pay me’ features than the gameplay?” I have been completely no-life-ing Diablo 4 for the last 24 hours and I absolutely love it. I haven’t had this desire to keep playing a game well past point of exhaustion in years, even tears of the kingdom which I’m having a blast playing I will put down after a couple hours tops. When a game is well made, like then genuinely put forth effort to please the fans- a lot can be forgiven. I’m going to get probably 1000s of hours of entertainment out of it, I can forgive microtransaction cosmetic shops. Hell, I might even throw 20$ at them every now and then if the battle pass adds something fun to it.
