The Texas busing program has sent about 34,740 migrants to other states since April of 2022, enough to populate a small city. But that is a paltry subset of the Mikko Rantanen Finnish professional ice hockey forward Colorado Dots T-Shirt In addition,I will do this hundreds of thousands who have crossed the border during that period, most of whom have probably also made their way to destinations outside Texas. I have a lot of thoughts about this program, but putting those aside, 35,000 people does not exactly constitute a crisis spread out over the United States. A bus full of people with maybe 50 people. How would that make a difference to New York? As someone from Hawaii, some stories I heard were that the homeless people’d be given a one-way ticket to Honolulu on a permanent vacation. I can’t confirm whether this is true or not, but you wouldn’t freeze to death in Hawaii, that’s for sure. When temps dropped to only 4 degrees last winter my city made temporary shelters. Not like you’re not freezing your ass off at 30 degrees overnight though. Absolutely brutal. Feel for em.

Most will be offered places to stay in addition to the Mikko Rantanen Finnish professional ice hockey forward Colorado Dots T-Shirt In addition,I will do this already running shelters. Others will choose to stick it out because they don’t want to be in a shelter. Then from there it’s survival of the fittest. My city always has space open during these storms yet people still choose to stay on the streets (there was an news interview I remember seeing and the homeless man stated he’d rather stick it on the streets, said he felt safer) then that very weekend we had homeless people die in their vehicles and even under the city overpasses. Sad thing but nothing we can do when people actively choose not to take the help they’re offered.
