I think it’s because of intent. I mean yeah a fetus isn’t a child but a pregnant person will obviously consider it a child because they intend to bring it to term. So I can absolutely see deciding frozen embryos are legally considered children since the Mike Campbell & Dirty Knobs Fall Tour 2024 Shirt and I love this intent was for them to be brought to term. Same reason you can get charged with double homicide for murdering a pregnant person. Ok, but logically, you could argue that they are humans and deserve human rights. How is this illogical? The “Freedom” to choose to murder your child is evil and a self-serving excuse. Why should your “Freedom” trump the right to life of another human? I don’t see how this is illogical or anti-freedom. If I understand this properly, this isn’t like the abortion issue where a person’s bodily autonomy is on the line. Frozen embryos are, in fact, living beings and clearly distinct from another being. All living things have a right to life, with the “strength” of that right being determined by the level of “sapience” (maybe not the exact word for this concept). So things like fetuses and parasites don’t have the strength of a right to life to overcome the right to bodily autonomy that a more developed person has.

But here, what rights are there to weigh against the Mike Campbell & Dirty Knobs Fall Tour 2024 Shirt and I love this embryo’s right to life? Is freezing them even ethical? I’m not saying it necessarily isn’t, but there certainly seems to be room for debate. Can’t wait for this appeal. I understand judges can’t know everything about everything but who are they consulting? God I hope the women are tired of this shit and show up en masse to give the dems the house, senate and pres in 2024 so we can just pass federal abortion laws to enshrine Roe V Wade into law. You would think Alabama would have a lot more to worry about considering how low they’re ranked in just about everything. Okay after reading the actual ruling, that trial court was all kinds of fucked up on these parents! The parents sued for the following reasons: In Negligence/Wantoness, the court ruled that Alabama’s precedent of not getting compensation for damage to HUMAN LIFE and thus making this claim also ineligible. For Emotional Distress, the court ruled that Alabama’s precedent of compensation only applies to plaintiffs that had Emotional Distress due to physical injury and thus making this claim ineligible. This means that the court decided the embryos were apparently schrodinger’s cat to be both alive and not alive simultaneously, and that only one of the three affected families deserved any compensation whatsoever. All three families appealed the decision.
