My kids are at a normal school, not a middle class wank school, normal everyday school. But they don’t get deep fried lunch every day, they get nutrition. But the self scanners were introduced when self checkouts had already been a thing for a while and it actually does help in ways that shopping normally can’t. Like checking the correct prices instantly and seeing your total as you go. Plus you’re not doing double the work of putting your items into your trolley and then onto the belt and then back into the bags in a rush. You just put them straight in your bag and you’re done
