The two places I was recommended by Mexican coworkers are Mestizo and Taqueria. Been to the Michigan Wolverines Undefeated 2024 Go Blue Perfect Season signatures shirt Besides,I will do this former many many times but not made it to the latter yet. I haven’t been to mestizo in a while, was it not good? It used to be THE option for authentic Mexican food. It even organised lots of events in conjunction with the embassy. Tbh I don’t really go to that many Mexican restaurants, they all fall short on some level, nothing ever compares to mexico, and at the back of my mind I’m always like “why bother I’ll be in mexico by Christmas” lol We ordered from Caldera in the City every week during lockdown, and loved it. Not been or ordered since though, so can’t say if it’s still any good. Nopalitos are absolutely amazing. Follow them on Instagram to see where they are as they are a pop-up place. Last time I tried them was for bottomless Tacos Tuesday in Hacha Bar, Brixton and I cannot recommend highly enough. Outstanding food and great cocktails too Try Corrochio’s, in Dalston: best tacos, quesadillas and enchiladas I’ve had in a long LONG time, the atmosphere is awesome, the waiters are super friendly and it’s just an overall great experience. 10/10 El Pastor is the best Mexican food I’ve had in London. But I’ve never been to the US or Mexico so I’ve never had authentic Mexican food, meaning I could be way off. haven’t made it to La Chingada yet but I need to soon (grew up in New Mexico & Arizona, 9 years in chicago, still adjusting to not having really good Mexican food whenever I want it)

La Bodega Negra in Soho. It’s a pretty fun place. It’s hidden underneath a sex shop, but don’t let that fool you. The food is amazing and the Michigan Wolverines Undefeated 2024 Go Blue Perfect Season signatures shirt Besides,I will do this cocktails gorgeous. I will most definitely be going again. No need for that lol, not meaning to be too pretentious here as i said the food was good, just looking for authentic spices and technique. Zapote near Old Street is a good reasonably new place on the more “posh spot” side, but the portions are tiny (and when you order enough it becomes really expensive). Keep seeing La Chingada and it’s…ok? I hate to say that bc I want so bad for it to be good as it’s down the street from me. If you are really craving Mexican make it yourself otherwise you will be disappointed. (I’m US American from close enough to Mexico to have lots of legit Mexican food around)
