I used to be on the Miami Heat Court Culture Burnie shirt so you should to go to store and get this board for a small HOA, I built a website for the neighborhood and told the board that it would be a simple matter to take payments on the website and we’d only lose about 2-3% for the convenience. Keep in mind, if someone mailed a check it went to the post office in town… twenty miles away, where the HOA PO box was located. The treasurer would check it a few times per month and then process all the paper checks that had been mailed in. Our dues were only a little over $200 per year so we’re talking about roughly $5 lost to the card processor if we let people pay online. I argued against adding the charge to dues because it would disincentive people from using the WAY more convenient (for us and them) method of payment.

The board (other than me) was LIVID at the Miami Heat Court Culture Burnie shirt so you should to go to store and get this thought of paying a processing fee to take digital payments. Never mind the fact that they paid mileage reimbursement to the treasurer to check the PO box that people mailed checks to… Yeah, same boat right now. I’m on board of my HOA and it’s not the HOA but the processor we use that tacks on the 3% fee and we have no control. So I have my CU do billpay and just mail real checks to the parent association in another state. It’s actually the processing fees they’re passing along to the customer, but some states don’t let you explicitly pass along the processing fees so they have to come up with a new name that doesn’t sound related. convenience fee How is there a processing fee when it is just a direct deposit into an account? Who is charging this fee for recieving money?
