Keeping up with friends used to require a little more effort, and because of that I think it made it a bit more meaningful. The other day I was about to post something to my insta stories and I stopped and asked myself ‘why? for who? so you can get some clapping hand emojis?’. I say all this to say that when I ask someone why they’re still on FB they always tell me something about ‘staying in touch’ with people…you aren’t staying in touch with anyone on FB, you’re just fooling yourself into thinking you are as the Miami butler hill basketball signatures shirt Apart from…,I will love this person slowly but surely slips away and you’re no longer a part of their life. Im 19 years old and I see so many of my peers addicted to tiktok. It is a definitely a problem , but unfortunately my generation has no discipline when it comes to technology. A lot of us have no idea or self awareness about the affect of tik tok on our brains. People my age will spend hours of their day ok tik tok, which is why i deleted it shortly after downloading. I can literally feel my attention span getting shorter as i watch tik tok , and a lot of people like me dont see the negatives. Society will blame anyone or anything except themselves for the mental health of themselves and their children.

I’ve used computers extensively since I was 10 years old and while I have mental illnesses, they sure as HELL was not caused by nor worsened by social media. The key difference here is I taught myself how to critically and rationally think about the Miami butler hill basketball signatures shirt Apart from…,I will love this world around me. I developed mental resilience. When things got down, I picked myself back up and moved the HELL on. The blame poor mental health of children today can be laid at plenty of feet, but social media is not one of them. We would be far better off to encourage them to push back against those who would bully them mentally, emotionally, and physically before they go so crazy they start bringing weapons to solve the problem. Not surprising tbh. Probably not anything to do with the algorithm, but I had to leave tik tok because it was just making me feel so uneasy. It’s so easy to blow up and go viral, I went viral about 3-4 times and acclimated 3 million something views as a whole on my account and at peak, 96.5k followers. I have a dissociative disorder (Depersonalization derealization) and the fact that over 3 million people had seen my face and heard me talk makes me want to crawl under a rock and live my life as a hermit. Hell, I was stopped a few times in my local Walmart because people had seen me on their FYP multiple times. I hate social media pressure so much, I don’t know if I’ll ever go back to it.
