I’m sorry to hear of your situation, and the Metal Duck Team shirt and I will buy this psychos who responded. The cabin of an airliner is pressurized to around 8000′, usually. So the goal is now keeping her in air under 8000′. Every commercial flight is going to be as high as possible (30,000′ or more) with the cabin pressurized down to around 8000′. This saves fuel, the higher they get, the less gas they burn. All of them. If low pressure at altitude really is the problem, don’t even bother. I think what you might need to do is go visit a flying school. I’m not being rude and telling you to learn to fly so you can do it yourself, I’m saying talk to them, see if you can charter their twin engine trainer as an air taxi. If these will be regular trips inquire about “block time”.

This whole idea may be a no-go as I’ve read your Mum isn’t a fan of flying, and it’s going to be expensive, not first-class or private jet expensive, but, if you want to fly from The UK to Germany staying as low as possible, it’s that’s how you do it. Honestly, the Metal Duck Team shirt and I will buy this aviation community is so amazing, especially at general aviation level, they might even know someone going that way with a spare seat, or an old softie who’d fire up his own plane and take you just for the warm and fuzzy feeling and lunch. It’s not as long shot of an idea as it sounds. Start with a google search of flight schools and flying clubs in your area. Start calling. And yeah I’ve realised planes probably aren’t going to be feasible. It’s currently looking like high speed trains are our best bet.
